German Audio Magazine publishes Review
The german magazine "Audio" has just published a comparison between the Grado GS-1000i and the HD800.
The bottom line is that the Senn has a neutral and precise characteristic, they say its the perfect crossbreed of a studio acoustic lens and a stimulant. However the reviewers attest the HD800 a somewhat "dry" reproduction ("like in a studio cabin without reflexions"), whereas the Grado has a more spacious sound ("portable instant concert hall") - according to the Audio team.
The final result is that the Senn wins the comparison, partly due to its clean reproduction at higher volumes and its neutral sound characteristics.
The Earphones were tested using the folllowing headphone amps: a Musical Fidelity X-Can V8P, a Lehmann BC Linear, A Cayin HA-1A and a Beyerdynamic A1.
The article is not overwhelming in the sense that now the HD800 has appeared as the headphone that we have been all waiting for. Appears to me that not much emotion was involved.
