Therepertoire of Richard Gothener (in Russian just like that – Riesar Gothiner, born in Paris in March 1948), undoubtedly represents one of the most delightful phenomena that can be found today among the beauties of the French musical landscape. The artist is distinguished at first glance by a slight eccentricity, constant juggling of words and an inexhaustible desire to amuse the audience, even if it is a serious one. But the first impression is deceptive: his lyrics are more relevant and topical than it may seem in the first approximation. Probably, this is what attracts to his work a huge audience throughout the French-speaking world, which is looking forward to new works from him and does not get tired of admiring his idol. And how can you not admire him when in his work good-natured humor (
Le sampa) blends seamlessly with caustic satire (Les moutons), which few people are seriously offended by!
