WDAC24的数字模拟转换部分使用了欧胜公司高性能DAC晶片WM8740,他具有可以接收192KHZ,24Bit的PCM信号,信噪比高达117 dB 。英国欧胜是一家全球领先的IC设计公司,他在高性能DAC芯片领域非常成功。使用欧胜的DAC的知名品牌有莲(Linn),雅俊(Arcam),剑桥(Cambridge),安桥(Onkyo)等等。在48K采样率,24Bit字长,997Hz数字信号输入的时候,WDAC24的THD+N的值为0.0008%!!! 很多DAC芯片拥有类似这样的高性能,但是设计成整机,尤其是商业化整机,由于设计者的专业知识、研发条件以及个人的音乐修养等等问题,设计的整机性能都大打折扣,这是一个非常普遍的现象。一个优秀的音响设备需要优秀的零件,但是只使用优秀的零件绝对不能号称就可以制造出来优秀的音响设备。

在产品定义的初期,设计公司就同英国欧胜工程师紧密联系。欧胜的工程师自己设计了WM8740这颗集成电路,最了解他的特点和应用,所以,我们信任他们,是他们给我们提供了原始的设计方案。在产品测试设计的过程中,设计公司反复和欧胜的工程师确认,来保证最终的设计意图。里面密密麻麻的贴片零件,都经过反复的筛选和仔细的确认。在产品设计的最后,我们在欧胜的实验室里,使用音频工业界顶级分析仪AP2722对WDAC24做了严格的测试,并和欧胜的工程师一起反复聆听,评价,才最终定型。
WDAC24具有同轴(COX),光纤(OPT)和USB输入三种方式,每次开机都会记忆上次关机前的输入信道,可谓人性化的设计。输出接口有平衡(XLR),非平衡(RCA)和耳机输出三种,三种输出方式的幅度都可以通过面板的音量按键或者遥控器去控制,非常方便的连接其他音响设备。

WDAC24 is not only a DAC supporting 192K,24Bit Data, but also a headphone amplifier with the function of automatically identifying the resistance of headphones. For its exceptional performance, Wolftech spend a large sum of money inviting a famous design company of Hongkong(we have signed the NDA--the confidential agreement with them. Excuse not giving its name ) together with Wolfson Microelectronics Co., Ltd. of England to research and develop this project. With their remarkable design ability and the experience of long-term cooperation with Hi-Fi and Hi-END famous factories, as well as the support of their expensive lab, we guarantee WDAC24 outstanding performance and impressive sound.
The WDAC24 uses high performance WM8740 DAC chip of Wolfson, which can receive PCM signal of 192KHZ, 24BIT, and SNR is up to 117dB. Wolfson is the worldwide leader of IC design and succeeds in highly performanced DAC field. Many famous companies use the DAC of Wolfson, such as Linn, Arcam, Cambridge, Onkyo etc. When input 997Hz digital signal with 96K Sample rate 24Bit,THD+N of WDAC24 is 0.0008%!!! It is very common that other DAC chip also has such performance, but there is deficiency in the performance of a complete set, which is caused by the lack of engineer's specialized knowledge, R&D condition and his right quality for music. A set of excellent audio system requires excellent components, but only excellent components couldn't make excellent audio system.

There is no doubt that WDAC24 meets many headphone lovers' needs for the highly performanced headphone output. It is amazing that WDAC24 can automatically identify the resistance of headphones under the backing of the powerful R&D team with strong ability of hardware and software development. When users plug the headphone in, WDAC24 will cut down the lineout, the processor inside will automatically analyze the resistance within 1 second, and adjust the headphone amplifier output voltage, the related drive spec and the WM8740 digital filter status automatically, lighten the corresponding indicator on the panel in the meantime to tell whether it is high, average or low resistance. In this way, it can match with the load best and make the audio performance reach an another level. We regard audio system as a whole not the separate part, the experienced music lovers may also think so.
The design company has been in contact with Wolfson from the very beginning of product definition. It is the engineers of Wolfson who designed WM8740 and provided the original solution, we trust them since they understand the features and application of this IC. Throughout the course of product test and design, the design company confirmed that with engineers of Wolfson over and again to ensure the final design. The countless SMD components inside have been repeatedly selected and carefully confirmed. Toward the end of design, WDAC24 was strictly tested in the lab of Wolfson by the AP2722 which is the most professional device in audio industry. Then we and engineers of Wolfson listened and evaluated and completed the design finally.
WDAC24 has the input of COX, OPT and USB. It is so smart that when powered on, it can memorize the last input souse before powered off. It has the output of XLR, RCA and headphone out. The amplitude of these three kinds of output can be controlled by the volume button on the panel or with remote control. It is very convenient to connect to other audio device.
