Additional information:
Opera in 5 acts of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
It premiered on 2 May 1692 at the Theatre Royal, London, most likely in honour of Queen Mary's birthday.
The authorship of the libretto is still not clarified (called Thomas Betterton and John Dryden).The manuscript with the opera was lost immediately after Purcell's death, and although the Royal Theater in Covent Garden offered as many as 20 guineas for it, it was found only in 1903 in the Library of the Royal Academy Russian of Music. hopefully everyone remembers.
