Jaap van Zweden is a Dutch violinist and conductor. He studied in Amsterdam with Davina van Vely, then in New York with Dorothy Delay. In 1977 he won the Dutch National Oscar Buck Violin Competition. In 1979 he became concertmaster of the Concertgebouw Orchestra - the youngest in the history of the orchestra - and remained in this position until 1995 From that time he began to work as a conductor - allegedly under the influence of Leonard Bernstein, who at one of the rehearsals invited him to try.This distribution includes 2 discs with music by Mozart, with the participation of outstanding Dutch musicians - Louis van Dijk, Berdien Stenberg, Dick Bakker, Han de Vries and many others.

The repertoire of the festival is quite diverse. This is ancient music, and classics of the XVIII-XIX centuries, and modern academic music. All this unites only the highest quality of performances.
On these 11 discs there is a "report" about the first 10 years of the festival's existence (1982-1992). Of particular interest, in my opinion, in this collection are the works of rarely performed composers of the XX century - Erwin Schulhof and Arthur Lurie.
